The Famous Snap Magazine Mascots

As part of its humorous approach to billiard reporting and journalism, editors and publishers of The Snap developed several cartoon mascots to introduce various articles and columns. With the exception of English Alice, who was drawn by Snooker Editor Pauline Masterton, these mascots were drawn exclusively for The Snap by artist Thomas Pagels. Some mascots were also featured on many items of Company Merchandise, including the now rare, full-color posters, which were hand painted by Pagels. Below are examples of these mascots, scanned from original copies of the magazine.
